De metaalsculptuur M for 3 ontstond in opdracht van het gemeentebestuur van Melle als officieel geschenk aan Melle (Duitsland) in het kader van een jumelageproject. Vanuit een eigen ontwerp creëerde Stefaan Schreel een monumentale sculptuur in cortenstaal en dibond die symbool staat voor verbondenheid, ontmoeting en gedeelde geschiedenis.
In het kunstwerk zijn twaalf foto's verwerkt van markante locaties in Melle (België). Zo vormt de sculptuur niet alleen een krachtig architecturaal object, maar ook een blijvende herinnering aan de band tussen beide gemeenten.

La sculpture métallique M for 3 a été réalisée à la demande de la municipalité de Melle en tant que cadeau officiel à la ville de Melle (Allemagne) dans le cadre d'un projet de jumelage. À partir de son propre projet, Stefaan Schreel a créé une sculpture monumentale en acier Corten et en Dibond qui symbolise les liens, la rencontre et l'histoire commune.
Douze photos de lieux emblématiques de Melle (Belgique) ont été intégrées à l'œuvre. Ainsi, la sculpture constitue non seulement un objet architectural puissant, mais aussi un souvenir durable du lien qui unit les deux communes.

The metal sculpture M for 3 was commissioned by the municipal council of Melle as an official gift to Melle (Germany) as part of a twinning project.
