Stefaan Schreel startte met het vervaardigen van exclusieve meubelstukken in beperkte oplage, daarbij vertrekkend vanuit zijn meesterschap als beeldhouwer en steeds met een voorkeur voor het bewerken van staal. Via het beheren van een nieuwe vorm-grammatika door het werken met contrasten tussen hout en metaal in zijn recentere stukken ontstaat een plastische ontdekkingstocht dat trouw blijft aan zowel technische als functionele logica. De meubels stralen soberheid en eerlijkheid uit, zowel naar materiaal toe, met respect voor specifieke eigenschappen en voor leesbaarheid van de constructie. Wat het meest opvalt is het scherp gevoel voor detail en afwerking. De laatste jaren spitst hij zich toe op overstijgende projecten: totale woonontwerpen, standenbouw, winkelinrichtingen. En nu kunt u zelf getuige zijn van de kwaliteit waarmee zijn eigen woning en showroom werd gerenoveerd!
Stefaan Schreel started creating exclusive furniture in limited edition, starting from his mastery as a sculptor and always with a preference for working with steel. By managing a new form-grammar through working with contrasts between wood and metal in his more recent pieces, a plastic journey of discovery is created that remains true to both technical and functional logic. The furniture radiates sobriety and honesty, both in terms of material, with respect for specific characteristics and for the legibility of the construction. What is most striking is the keen sense of detail and finish. In recent years, he has focused on projects that transcend the boundaries: total housing design, exhibition stand construction, shop fittings. Stefaan Schreel se lança dans la création de meubles exclusifs en édition limitée, grâce à sa maîtrise de sculpteur et toujours avec une préférence pour l'emploi du fer. Gérant une nouvelle grammaire formelle en manipulant les contrastes entre bois et métal dans ses œuvres les plus récentes, il sait créer un parcours plastique qui reste fidèle à la logique technique et fonctionnelle. L'ameublement respire la sobriété et l'honnêteté, tant sur le plan des matériaux, du respect des spécificités que de la lisibilité de la construction. Le plus frappant est le sens aigu du détail et de la finition. Ces dernières années il s'est concentré sur des projets qui transcendent les frontières: conception de logements complets, construction de stands, aménagement de magasins.
