So Long, and Thx a Lot for the Fish is een monumentale metaalsculptuur die werd gecreëerd voor een groepstentoonstelling in de psychiatrische instelling Karus. De inspiratie ontstond vanuit de oude badkamer van het gebouw, een ruimte die bij de kunstenaar onmiddellijk associaties opriep met de beleving van psychiatrie. Vanuit die eerste indruk groeide een sculptuur waarin vervreemding, herinnering en verbeelding samenkomen.
Vervaardigd uit staal, inox en blauwe glazen keien onderzoekt het werk de dunne grens tussen werkelijkheid en beleving. De combinatie van robuuste materialen en transparante glaselementen creëert een subtiel evenwicht tussen kracht en kwetsbaarheid. De sculptuur nodigt de bezoeker uit om niet alleen naar het werk te kijken, maar ook stil te staan bij de manier waarop een ruimte herinneringen, emoties en persoonlijke interpretaties kan oproepen.

« So Long, and Thx a Lot for the Fish » est une sculpture monumentale en métal créée pour une exposition collective à l'établissement psychiatrique Karus. L'inspiration est venue de l'ancienne salle de bains du bâtiment, un espace qui a immédiatement évoqué chez l'artiste des associations avec l'expérience de la psychiatrie. De cette première impression est née une sculpture où se mêlent aliénation, mémoire et imagination.
Réalisée en acier, en inox et en galets de verre bleus, l’œuvre explore la frontière ténue entre réalité et perception. La combinaison de matériaux robustes et d’éléments en verre transparents crée un équilibre subtil entre force et fragilité.
